Austin Aries has officially been released from the WWE, as the company released a statement to that effect.
"WWE has come to terms on the release of WWE Superstar Austin Aries. WWE wishes Aries the best in all of his future endeavors."
Aries was out of action for at least a month, with his last match at WWE Extreme Rules, where he faced Neville for the WWE Cruiserweight Championship. After the Pay-per-view, Aries announced on Twitter that he'd be taking some time off, and most fans assumed that he was planning on leaving the WWE for good. But Aries himself shot down those rumors.

Aries was in the WWE for a little over a year, staring in NXT in April of 2016 but was moved to the main roster's '205' Division. As of yet, there is no word on where Aries will land, in terms of his professional wrestling career.
